{"id":160,"date":"2015-01-27T16:27:07","date_gmt":"2015-01-27T21:27:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.amezz.com\/blog\/?p=160"},"modified":"2015-01-27T16:27:07","modified_gmt":"2015-01-27T21:27:07","slug":"mezzanine-deck-types-corrugated-roof-deck-resindek","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.amezz.com\/blog\/mezzanine-deck-types-corrugated-roof-deck-resindek\/","title":{"rendered":"Mezzanine Deck Types: Corrugated Roof Deck with Resindek"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I thought it might be a good idea to begin a little series in which we discuss some of the different mezzanine deck types available.\u00a0 To start things off, let\u2019s talk about our most commonly used mezzanine deck type:\u00a0 the corrugated roof deck topped with resindek.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_161\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amezz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/underside-roof-deck.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-161\" class=\"wp-image-161 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.amezz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/underside-roof-deck-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Underside of corrugated roof deck\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.amezz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/underside-roof-deck-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.amezz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/underside-roof-deck-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.amezz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/underside-roof-deck-624x468.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-161\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Corrugated roof deck, painted reflective white, as viewed from below.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>As the name implies, roof decks with resindek is a two-layered mezzanine deck surface.\u00a0 The structural component of the mezzanine deck is provided by a 1-1\/2\u201d corrugated steel roof deck.\u00a0 The gauge of the roof deck used varies depending on the loads the mezzanine deck is designed to support.\u00a0 The underside of the roof deck is painted white to help reflect light under the mezzanine deck.\u00a0 The corrugation of the roof deck doesn\u2019t offer a very useable deck surface, so it needs to be skinned with a second material &#8212; in this case, resindek.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_79\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amezz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/3.3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-79\" class=\"wp-image-79 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.amezz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/3.3-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Unfinished Resindeck mezzanine deck \" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.amezz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/3.3-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.amezz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/3.3-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.amezz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/3.3-624x468.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-79\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Unfinished Resindek mezzanine deck surface<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Resindek is a wood composite material specifically designed to provide a durable and affordable mezzanine deck surface.\u00a0 There are different grades of resindek depending on the loads the mezzanine deck is designed to support.\u00a0 Most commonly we will use an unfinished \u00be\u201d Resindek LD material which is designed to accommodate a combined pallet and pallet jack load of up to 2000 lbs.\u00a0 If we\u2019re designing the mezzanine to support heavier loads, varieties are available for all the way up to an 8000 lb max load.\u00a0\u00a0 It provides a smooth surface to roll your pallets across, both on and between panels, and doesn\u2019t peel layers like plywood can.<\/p>\n<p>Corrugated roof deck with resindek is easily our most popular mezzanine deck surface, largely due to its significant price advantage over other deck types.\u00a0 There are, however, some situations where it would not be the best option.\u00a0 As a wood based material, resindek can swell when it gets wet.\u00a0 During installation you leave a gap between panels about the width of a nickel to accommodate some swelling, but if the deck will be in a wet environment it is not the recommended tool for the job.\u00a0 In our next segment, we\u2019ll talk about another deck type that would work better for wet environments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I thought it might be a good idea to begin a little series in which we discuss some of the different mezzanine deck types available.\u00a0 To start things off, let\u2019s talk about our most commonly used mezzanine deck type:\u00a0 the corrugated roof deck topped with resindek.
